Educational Development

This custom design was inspired from the Art Deco building in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma.  A curvaceous gown included iridescent taffeta, velvet inlays surrounded by hand beading and a dip-dyed godet in the front slit. The target audience was women aged 50+.

Inspired by the vibrant autumnal color and fabric texture, this collection of wearable basics presented warmth and balance.

​For the summer of 2012 Manuel Couture graciously accepted me as an intern.  During this exploration of the couture world, specifically western tailored clothing, I was given creative license on projects.  A collection of jackets was designed and I fabricated one piece that is now for sale in Manuel's.  Besides improving my sewing and surface design skills I encountered a difficult work environment that I learned how to work with Manuel and his crew.

Up-cycling old mens shirts this sun dress was designed and created using only the thrifty finds.
